One design decision that I keep going back and forth on is how to best represent a players figure piece, and all of the buildable assets in the game. Meeples look great, don't need to be painted, and are relatively inexpensive to produce. Miniatures are hugely popular on Kickstarter, and once painted can transform the look and feel of a game; but they are expensive! For the moment, I have happily decided on Meeples as the way forward. They suit the aesthetic of the game, and the small footprint they have is perfect for what is a compact main board.
